【摘要】:pHmeasurementsaremadeinwaterandincalciumchloridesolutionbecausethepHreadingsinwatercanbemodifiedbysalts,suchasfertilizermaterial,whereastheobservedpHincalciumchloridesolutionisvirtuallyindependentoftheinitialamountofsaltspresentinthesoil.pHvaluesobtainedincalciumchloridesolutionusuallyrunabouta0.5to0.8pHunitlowerthanmeasurementsinwaterduetoreleaseofmorehydrogenionsbycationexchange.1.1ThistestmethodcoverstheelectrometricmeasurementofthepHofpeatmaterials.Itisameansofexpressingthedegreeofacidityoralkalinityofpeatmaterialsuspendedinwaterand0.01Mcalciumchloridesolution.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
