【摘要】:ThistestmethodcanbeusedtoquantifyandcomparethecoolingprovidedbydifferentPersonalCoolingSystems(PCSx2019;s)wornwithastandardoutergarmentorwithanyotherspecifiedone.4.1.1Thetestmethodisintendedtoallowgarmentsbasedonvariouscoolingtechnologiestobeevaluatedfairlyandobjectively,bytakingintoaccountconvectiveandevaporativeheattransfer.4.1.2Asweatingthermalmanikinaccuratelyaccountsforevaporativecooling,whichrepresentstheonlyactivemeansofheattransferoccurringinhumans.UtilizingasweatingthermalmanikinwillalsopermittheheatremovalratetobemeasuredforalltypesofPCS.ThemeasurementsofheatremovalratesanddurationofcoolingprovidedbythePCSx2019;sdependontheapparatusandtechniquesused.4.2.1Itisnotpracticalinatestmethodofthisscopetoestablishdetailssufficienttocoverallcontingencies.4.2.2Departuresfromtheinstructionsinthistestmethodwillpotentiallyleadtosignificantlydifferenttestresults.4.2.3Technicalknowledgeconcerningthetheoryofheattransfer,temperature,airmotionmeasurement,evaporativecooling,andtestingpracticesisneededtoevaluatewhichdeparturesfromtheinstructionsgiveninthistestmethodaresignificant.Reportanydepartureswiththeresults.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofheatremovalratefromasweatingheatedmanikinaswellasthedurationofcoolingprovidedbyacoolinggarment,inordertoassesstheeffectivenessofPCS.1.1.1Thistestmethodrequirestheuseofasweatingheatedmanikin.Thesweatingcapabilityisessential,totakeintoaccountthepotentiallylargefractionofheatdissipationassociatedwithevaporativecooling.1.2TheexperimentalvaluesobtainedforthecoolingratesandcoolingdurationapplyonlytotheparticularPCSandadditionalclothingensemble(standardoutergarment,outergarmentintegratedtothePCS,oranyotheroutergarment,asappropriate)astested,andforthespecifiedenvironmentalconditions.1.3ThevaluesstatedinthisstandardshallbeSIunits.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
